Applies to all Niche Press sites unless a site page overrides.
Mission
Short, sourced niche news for operators and builders. Prefer primary sources over recycled headlines.
Accuracy
- Cite primary sources (vendor advisory, NVD, company blog, paper, changelog) with outbound links.
- Label estimates and unverified claims. Never invent traffic, rankings, or revenue.
- Correct material errors promptly; note “Updated” with date when facts change.
Independence
- Ads, affiliates, and sponsors never rewrite facts. Disclosure on every commercial link.
- No pay-for-placement as “news.” Sponsored pieces labeled Sponsored.
AI / bot authorship
- Niche Press editorial drafts and maintains content; the publisher approves publish-to-live.
- Byline: “Niche Press editorial”; publisher entity: GeekDad.
- Human review before first live publish of each batch (numbered slug list).
Conflicts
- No coverage of the publisher’s employer or personal life.
- Hard-no categories (affiliates/topics) listed by the publisher stay out.
Updates & freshness
- Visible “Last updated” on posts that change after publish.
- Thin aggregator pages without synthesis are not published.
No personal coverage
- Posts must never reference the publisher’s personal life, professional life, employer, hometown, family, or experiences without explicit permission and confirmation of understanding of the exact wording.
- Default beat: niche news and bulletins only — current events relevant to each section, verified from primary sources (cross-check X/news leads; never invent traffic, rankings, or revenue).
- Entertaining and informative voice is welcome; autobiography, “from my shop floor,” or insider employer anecdotes are not, unless the publisher OKs a specific piece in writing first.
